List of US Military Aircraft Landing at Shannon Between Jan 1st and Aug 31st 2025
This list has been compiled from Shannonwatch records of aircraft that landed at Shannon Airport. While almost all are US military or military contracted aircraft, we have also included other foreign military aircraft, most notably German Luftwaffe landings.
As far as we know, none of these aircraft have ever been searched or properly investigated by Gardai or Irish government officials.
While only some of the aircraft went on to Israel, most of the US military and military contracted aircraft were on their way to or from forward operating bases in or near the Middle East. These are used for operations in the region, including in Palestine.
Allowing these aircraft to land at Shannon Airport is in clear breach of Irish neutrality, the Genocide Convention and the Genocide Act, 1973.

US Navy Hercules KC130T mid-air refueller 16-4598 landed at about 18.55 on Aug 28 from St Johns Newfoundland and Camp Springs Air Base Washington DC. It stayed overnight at Shannon and took off on 29 Aug about 11.37, heading south and landed at Lisbon. It returned to Shannon airport landing about 20.38 on Aug 29. National Air N873CA with call sign CMB 514 landed at about 06.48 coming from Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia with a stop also at Athens Greece. It flew on to Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina. Patriot aircraft number N225NE () landed at about 17.15 coming from Biggs Army Airfield El Paso and Indianapolis. It took off again about 21.38, heading east. All of the following 5 US Air Force Hercules C130 aircraft flew from Little Rock Air Force Base in Arkansas to Shannon and then on to Ramstein in Germany. They all took off from Ramstein on the morning of 30 Aug and flew on to Catania in Sicily and from there on towards the Middle East.

Omni Air N468AX that landed at about 12.32 on 17 July coming from Kuwait stayed overnight at Shannon and took off about 10.30 and unusually flew south-east back towards the Middle East. This may have been due to a problem with Omni Air N423AX that arrived at about 10.17 on 17 July was still at Shannon on 18 Jul, Omni Air N468AX may have been tasked to make a special unscheduled journey to transport the US soldiers that were on N423AX onwards to the Middle East. US Navy Hercules C130 number 16-5316 stayed overnight at Shannon on 17 July having come from the US. On 18 July it took off about 14.00 and flew on to Sigonella air base Sicily. |

These are modified KC-130J aircraft designed to conduct personnel recovery missions, provide a command and control platform, in-flight-refuel helicopters and carry supplemental fuel for extending range or air refuelling. |

It flew from there to Ramstein base in Germany and on Tuesday 4 March it arrived at Shannon at about 19.40. It took off again about 22.35 and returned to Ramstein US air base in Germany. Omni Air N829AX landed at about 08.15 on 3 March from Fort Cavazos TX, took off about 11.55 and flew on to Kuwait. On its return journey on 4 March it landed again at about 11.10 and took off again about 14.18 and flew on to Fort Drum NY. US Navy C40A 16-5834 landed at 13.37 coming from Bahrain with a stop at Chania Crete. It took off again 14.49 heading for the USA. |

US Air Force Boeing 737 C40B probably on diplomatic mission landed at about 18.10. We were unable to track where it was coming from except it was in the Middle East area on 2nd March. |

German Luftwaffe Bombardier GL5T number 14+04 arrived at about 11.30am and took off again about 13.10pm. It flew a circuit to and from Koln Bonn airport that included stops in Denmark, Scotland, Shannon and two stops in France before returning to Koln Bonn. |
